[e-gold-list] Which business models will survive the current shake up?

It's now been a week since the news that began the current shake-up,
so I've just logged in to my e-gold account to see if it looks like
activity is slowing down. So far, that does not seem to be the case.
In the week before May 1st, and the week from May first, I have three
pages in each week, mostly just incentive payments. I should note
that, at least on May 5th, payments could still be made to TGC (at
least dBourse anyway), from non-US accounts.

On the e-gold stat's page, velocity for the past 24 hours was 124.06
kg, equivalent to USD$2,747,403.07, comprised of 40,332 spends. There
were also 2,773 NEW accounts in 24 hours. Does this seem like
everything is still ticking over, or are all of the 'ordinary' e-gold
users, that is, the ones not on this (or other DGC) list, oblivious to
the current news?

Certainly willing ponzi players would not be dissuaded by the court
case, but I've never bothered to read ponzi tripe, so I haven't posted
to or read any websites promoting so-called HYIPs. JP's observations
of numbers and sizes of Ponzis in e-gold is all I can go by. It would
certainly explain why it has been difficult to see where all of the
volume shown in the e-gold stat's is, in terms of people participating
in just the e-gold discussion list. (Surely no-one could accuse James
Ray of giving any quarter to Ponzi promotions on the e-gold list (and
he had seemingly tirelessly referred people to websites that would
educate them on the facts about Ponzi frauds) , so it never occurred
to me that there was any e-gold policy favouring Ponzis or HYIPs.

Given the number of risk-takers evident amongst e-gold account holders
generally, it is not surprising that TheGoldCasino has been almost
alone in its profitable stability over the years (until this [first
day of] April and May's unprecedented dividend cut), but even that
shows remarkable strength compared to other businesses in the current
circumstances. If people continue playing, but use Pecunix instead,
then it could still be a green light for ongoing dividends on dBourse
(and by extension for MCG dividends on the PVCSE).

I'm still waiting and hoping for the day PVH starts to pay monthly
dividends (from the profits of the Pecunix digital gold currency),
just like TGC has managed (to pay regular and frequent dividends on
their online casino business) since they began!

On the other hand, there is another business model present on the
Private Venture Capital Stock Exchange, where the business is
generated independently of the fortunes of the online Digital Gold
economy, but where shareholders have provided the funding through one
or other digital gold currency. Jim D announced actual shop-front
computer stores for their Indomitus model laptops and such. Last year,
CyberGold Bank astonished many with an oft-repeated stream of
dividends and splits (or variously described share adjustments that
many understood as some combination of a split or a dividend), all the
while that the online-business had not even commenced any profitable
trading! Yet, on the strength of the profitability of unseen
transactions (that is transactions that only insiders and those
involved could have known were occurring) on the gold in the business,
CGB were faithful to return the profits to shareholders over a number
of months, in a way that certainly generated a lot of trading and a
much increased share price, - until the dividends were stopped.

In the end, investors want an ongoing stream of dividends from profits
earned, in order to earn income. So I implore everyone to work hard,
and make profits, to keep everybody happy. No-one wants to buy into a
business at 0.1 only to have it trading over a long period of time at
0.02 (losing 80 percent of its value)! Let's not see that again,
please! Indeed, let's see the reverse share price path this year!
