You probably never see those 65, either, if it's anything like my
experience with Linux. While malware does exist for Linux, it seems to
be pretty rare in the wild. I remember there was a Linux worm once,
that infected quite a few boxes, but that's the only large scale
incident I can remember.
My box is scanned regularly by password guessing programs, but that's a
rather different thing...
This reminds me, I saw a great new security measure the other day. My
new webcam has a piece of plastic that can be rotated until it's in
front of the lens. According to the instructions, it isn't to protect
the lens, it's so you can be really sure you aren't being watched!
Turning the software off isn't enough, because your box might be
compromised.
