This statement would only be truthful if there existed other forms of  
currency which cannot "be taken without a trial and without merit."   
This has always been the way money laundering investigations have been  
carried out.  This has always been justified within North America as  
helping to keep drugs off the street or catch terrorists.  Control  
over the flow of money has always been critical to public policy of  
the United States, and that control has never been truly expressed  
through the courts.

The assets haven't been forfeited.  It's my understanding that  
ownership of the assets has not shifted, merely custody.  Shifting  
ownership will require the involvement of a court.
