And to be clear, I don't want to change the current e-gold system at all. We
need to fight for an open system, because only an open system will do
everything that web money should do, as I've said before -- but to have any
chance of winning, we need to call a spade, a spade. It doesn't do any good
to tell people that we can't stop ponzis by validating accounts, when
thousands of other banks and then GoldMoney, do stop ponzis in this fashion.
It makes us look deceptive... We need to argue that web money should be easy
to use and immediately accessible BECAUSE this is what is required of
ecommerce. Again, the way it is now, if I want to send money to someone
using e-gold, the receiving party does NOT even need an e-gold account. Just
send them the account information with the money in the account, and the
location of their nearest trustworthy exchanger. THIS is what's going to
make e-gold successful. As soon as people realize how to do this, e-gold
will become immensely popular, and many people will just not find the need
to sell their gold when they receive it.
