Thats why the market makers *verify* their customers, BEFORE they
deal with them. This is not a US issue; it's a world wise issue.
No verification = BIG problems; stolid ID verification = (mostly)
safe business.
In any case, gold bars *are* trackable. Ask e-gold , GoldMoney, or any

The majority of gold users are law abiding citizens; to single out the
mis-(ab)users of gold is an issue, but not at all appropriate, with
reference to the whole.
Besides, the US arms industry is alive and well (as it should be), and
most of them deal in USD, I believe.

I cannot believe that any crook/thief/launderer/terrorist would have
