Hi everyone,
I received two ** e-Gold New Security Recommendations Notice ** e-mails.
Even one on an e-mail address I don't remember to have used as
registration on the e-gold system.
There is a "Security Recommendation.doc" file attached. I displayed the
content with "antiword" (a tool to extract the text content of a Word
file without executing any script) and it was legitimate
recommendations. It does not mean the Word file _IS_ legitimate and
virus free.
It is really suspicious to receive an attachement for something that can
be put in a simple e-mail.
You can instead post a "descriptive link" instead of a URL or
attachement like:
"We recommend you to follow the security recommendations on the
e-gold.com website. From the home page, just click "Security
Recommendation"..."
Regards.
