True, but I believe that sort of misses the real point.  The real
point is that in a police state you can "commit a felony" by
doing ANYTHING that is against the wishes of the government, be
they encoded into law or not.  The evidence continues to become
more and more irrefutable that the US is no longer a
constitutional republic but has become, in reality, a police
state.

Some would argue that since it is still possible to change things
peaceably -- through the election of different representatives,
for example -- it can't properly be called a police state.  But,
given the manner in which the government controls the implements
for communicating to the public (the so-called "mass media"),
there may not be any practical sense in which this could be
accomplished.  So until someone demonstrates the ability to make
a meaningful change through the electoral process, I believe I
have reason to rest my case.
