I get a newsletter from a UK libertarian, routinely
complaining about routine criminal conduct by the UK
government, and similar newsletters from libertarians in
the US.

Comparing the two, it is clear that UK courts are vastly
more tolerant of misconduct by government, police,
public servants, and quasi governmental organizations,
that UK courts are markedly more tolerant of violations
of the laws by the government, than are US courts.

I drew a similar conclusion reading the London magazine
"The Economist" reporting on an incident where
government officials in America confiscated land from
the less well connected to the benefit of better
connected private interests. They seemed puzzled that
it was possible for government officials to find
themselves in difficulties for doing so. Seemed very
strange to them. They could understand people
protesting the greedy well connected private land
developer, but not people going to court against the
government agency that was actually confiscating the
land.
