it is hard to say based on this convoluted sentence

 "The E-gold online payment portal uses a one-time password 
  system to  maintain security but has suffered recent 
  attacks where transactions are intercepted by criminals 
  as the password and is momentarily active."

what exactly is being described. i'd like to see the original
English sentence (presumably sent through babelfish a few 
times) that resulted in the above rendering.
