This is not just about a stupid license to play with money.  The fact
that a license was refused and then the full force of the law is thrust
upon GoldAge for not having a license tells you that.

Also the entrapment tactics (dubiously legal to say the least)to simply
buy some e-gold (something any cretin can do if they read the web site),
all point to a higher authority objecting to the encroachment being made
by e-gold and other providers into the fiscal monopoly and the control
of peoples lives with debit and printed worthless money.

It takes some 'oomph' to get the law to raid a joint, especially when
that raid will turn out to be illegal. You might recall this is not the
first time Gold Age was raided, prior to Ragnar buying it. That turned
up nothing as well.

The US government has never liked the US population having gold. 
Gives them too much independence. They only relented on allowing 
them to have gold when the South African government produced the 
krugerrand which was aimed at the US market. The krugerrand is 
legal currency (a point completely overlooked by the US Gov'mint 
at the time) as well as being pure gold, allowing US citizens to 
own gold 'the legal way'

There is still, I believe, an ongoing disagreement with e-gold by 
the gov'mint.  As e-gold do not 'trade' in gold but simply store 
it this must be frustrating to the financial powers that be.

Instead the service providers will be targeted.

In their position, as well as fighting it I would make it as public as
possible in as many ways as possible.  Maybe it is time to turn the
tide and institute a class action for intimidation, harrisment and
wrongful arrest and make that public too!
